We Did Not Lose All Our Natural Clients

Hairstylists are you educating yourselves in all area of our field ? I  want to share  my experience , I've been doing natural hair for over sixteen years and been educating professionals on natural hair prior to  The New Natural movement .
Last weekend I attended a  Design Essentials Annual Meeting and Training  one of  our Educator

" Diane C Bailey natural hair expert  elaborated on Natural Terminology and inviting the Natural Extremists into our salons , I admit my thoughts were extremists are not rendering services at our  salons we are considered to be the enemy , guess what I was incorrect . Less than a week later a young man entered our beauty boutique  , I started his locs two years ago now he was the expert. He said, " Do you use brown gel and I don't need my hair wash , I washed my hair last night with apple cider vinegar and baking soda and I don't need it wash  " . I had just learned that was a  technique  the Naturalists and Naturalistas were doing on a regular basis and my thought were lack of moisture  but I understood why the apple cider or the baking soda was used  , to remove  the exsisting  product residue but using both items in conjunction , that was too much  . I knew in order for us to build that client/ pro  relationship I had to buld  trust . I was grateful for that class . Our consultation went well and his reason for coming back home ,HERMION S. BEAUTY BOUTIQUE  was doing his locs himself was time consuming . Prior to me having this class I would have been offended , how dare you walk into my establishment and tell me the procedure on how to do your  hair .We have to understand being open minded and communication  are some of  the antidotes  to establishing  potential clients and retrieving the lost ones also product knowledge and curl patterns are the key factors for best results in  natural hairstyling .
